Mr. Gordon has been trying cases in state and federal court since 1986. He focuses on complex commercial litigation in a wide range of industries including financial institutions, apparel and luxury goods, real estate and construction and engineering. He has handled domestic and international AAA and ICC arbitrations, he has represented clients in proceedings before the New York State Banking Department and the U.S. Office of Comptroller of the Currency and he is experienced in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Gordon is experienced in conducting internal investigations and regularly works with and supervises forensic accountants, investigators and other consultants.
In the financial services industry, Mr. Gordon regularly represents domestic and foreign banks in a wide range of litigated, arbitrated and mediated matters.
In the apparel and luxury goods area, Mr. Gordon has represented one of the world's largest retailers in a number of litigations throughout the United States brought by vendors and other parties in state and federal court, achieving substantial successes. Mr. Gordon also represents a number of jewelry manufacturers involved in a complex, international litigation with one of the largest diamond houses in the world. And, he has been involved in a number of art cases involving droit moral, provenance, and other issues involved in the buying, selling, and collecting of fine art.
In the construction and engineering field, Mr. Gordon has represented public and private owners, developers, construction managers, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors and suppliers.
Mr. Gordon has successfully represented a large foreign investor embarking on a foreign exchange arbitration program, banks involved in a number of state and federal litigations brought in the United States, and top-level bank executives investigated by the OCC.
