Areas of Practice

Ms. Turpin is a partner within the Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Insurance Coverage practice groups.

Ms. Turpin advises policyholders in relation to a variety of insurance claims, including claims under Product Liability, Public Liability, Crime, Professional Indemnity/Errors & Omissions and Directors & Officers' Liability policies.  She assists businesses looking to maximize their insurance recoveries and acts for policyholders in relation to disputed claims, if necessary through litigation or arbitration.

Ms. Turpin also advises policyholders in relation to policy wordings at the pre-contract stage and in relation to claims management and claims notification issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Turpin acted primarily for insurers and Lloyd's underwriters, both advising in relation to insurance coverage issues and acting for insurers in relation to coverage disputes.  She also acted for insureds in defending a wide variety of professional negligence claims.

  • Advising major financial institution in relation to claims notification and coverage issues relating to potential professional indemnity claims
  • Assisting policyholder in pursuing and negotating settlement of disputed D&O claim
  • Advising major financial institution in relation to D&O and professional indemnity claims and coverage issues
  • Advising in relation to claim under global public and products liability policy arising from advertising injury claims
  • Advising investment managers in relation to dispute with professional indemnity insurers in relation to defence costs
  • Advising directors of insolvent company in relation to claim under D&O policy arising from DTI investigations/potential third party claims
  • Advising stockbrokers in relation to notification of potential claims under D&O/PI policy arising from regulatory enquiry/investigation
  • Advising chemical manufacturer in relation to disputed D&O claim arising from criminal investigation/prosecution

Professional Background

Sarah joined the firm in September 2005. Prior to this she worked for a leading insurance coverage practice in the city, having trained in the insurance group of another prestigious city firm.
