Areas of Practice

David is a partner in the firm’s Projects/Private Public Partnerships practice group.  He has experience of all aspects of the construction and engineering industry, particularly the waste disposal, process engineering, printing, transport, cement and hotel industries.  He also advises on the construction aspects of property development schemes, joint ventures, major commercial agreements, partnering, alliancing and novel methods of procurement.

David’s focus is on major construction/engineering projects including infrastructure projects.  He has acted for a number of local authorities in connection with the privatization of their undertakings and outsourcing arrangements.

Professional Background

Mr. Race qualified as a lawyer in 1974.  Prior to joining the firm in 1987, he ran the legal departments of the Mass Transit Railway Corporation in Hong Kong (during the construction phase of the project) and after his return to the UK, Blue Circle Industries PLC.
