Areas of Practice
Ms. Freidel has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including federal and state class action litigation. Ms. Freidel has represented clients in civil litigation matters in federal and state court actions throughout the United States, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Illinois, Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Washington, Maine, and California. Ms. Freidel has participated in the trial of jury cases in state and federal courts, and has appeared and prepared appellate briefs in state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Freidel's representations have concerned challenges under federal statutes such as the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, as well as state statutory law claims (including state unfair and deceptive acts and practices statutes, California Business and Professions Code § 17200) and common law claims.
Ms. Freidel's experience in complex civil litigation also includes contracts, environmental, employment discrimination, products liability, civil rights, and general commercial litigation matters.
