Mr. Blase is an associate in the Boston office of K&L Gates and concentrates his practice in the area of commercial litigation, including class action defense and consumer finance litigation. Mr. Blase has experience representing mortgage lenders, banks and other financial institutions in suits under various federal and state consumer statutes.
Mr. Blase recently participated in obtaining favorable outcomes in class actions alleging violations of the firm offer of credit provisions in the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He is also part of a team representing mortgage lenders in actions alleging violations of the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
Mr. Blase has defended clients in jury and non-jury civil litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the United States, including Delaware, California, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.
