Akilah Green focuses on federal policy and legislative affairs concerning a broad range of interests, including housing finance, financial services, and environmental and climate change policy. Ms. Green also focuses her lobbying efforts on economic development initiatives, tax-exempt organizations, and obtaining funding for clean drinking water and sanitation projects in developing nations. Ms. Green advocates policy positions with federal legislators and administrative agencies, prepares legal and strategic policy analysis, and develops legislation.
Ms. Green works closely with issues involving the House Financial Services Committee, Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. She also regularly works with the offices of Congressional Black Caucus members.
Ms. Green joined the firm in 2006. During law school, Ms. Green served as a research director for the Michigan Voting Rights Initiative and outreach chair of the Michigan Election Law Project. In 2002, she worked on the Travis County Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign, focusing on media relations. Ms. Green remains involved in election protection and voter registration activities.
