Dominic is a partner in the Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights & Related Transactions, the Marketing & Advertising and the Sports practice groups of K&L Gates’ London office.
His practice focuses on IP, technology and media disputes. He has extensive experience of all aspects of commercial litigation, including injunction proceedings, arbitration, international litigation and alternative dispute resolution. His clients include: media organisations (AOL, Home Box Office Inc and the Press Association); sports governing bodies (PGA European Tour); international brand owners (World Wrestling Entertainment; IT suppliers (BEA Systems Inc); on-line distributors (CDWOW!) and advertising and marketing agencies.
Dominic is principal advisor to the MCCA, a leading marketing and advertising agency representative body, and is responsible for the operation of the MCCA Pitch Protection Service and MCCA Legal Advice Service, both available to over forty member agencies.
Drawing on his dispute resolution experience, Dominic regularly advises on contractual and commercial issues arising in IP, technology, media and sports, including licensing and merchandising agreements, sponsorship and advertising contracts, advertising copy clearance issues, image rights exploitation, internet network services agreements and major IT infrastructure projects. He advises on pre-contractual negotiations and drafting, dispute avoidance and resolution during the course of contractual relationships, and on renegotiation and termination rights.
