Areas of Practice
Marc Barreca's practice focuses on insolvency, including bankruptcy reorganizations, workouts and receiverships. He represents creditors, creditor committees and debtors in Chapter 11 cases, and advises clients on questions involving bankruptcy law and procedure.
He is chair of the Washington State Bar Association Creditor–Debtor Section and chair of the E–Commerce and Technology Bankruptcy Subcommittee of the ABA’s Business Bankruptcy Section. He is a frequent faculty member at legal education presentations and has spoken on topics including business acquisitions in bankruptcy, changes for commercial bankruptcies under BAPCPA, treatment of intellectual property issues in bankruptcy, real estate bankruptcies, state receivership legislation, and directors’ and officers’ fiduciary duties prior to bankruptcy.
