Areas of Practice
Mr. Peterson's primary practice areas are real estate development, lending, leasing, and land use and zoning. He has been actively involved with all phases of office, industrial, retail and multi-family development during his career, including acquisition and site development, landlord representation, UPREIT transactions and a wide range of land use matters. He has also represented numerous institutional lenders on real estate lending matters.
Representative Experience

Served as counsel to state port authority on real estate, development and public/private matters, as well as assisted with the preparation and negotiation of the Master Feasibility Agreement, assisted with related due diligence matters including financing, environmental and permitting issues and assisted with the negotiation of a proposal for the design, construction, financing and operation of the new facility and the negotiation of a concession/development agreement for a new facility.

Represented developer in acquisition of approximately 22,000 acres in eastern North Carolina through contract negotiations, conduct and review due diligence, assist with the investment structure and entity formation for the client, close the transaction and negotiate and close a simultaneous sale of several parcels to a third party.

Served as counsel to national developer in historic redevelopment in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina including representation before various state agencies in permitting process and acquisition, development, financing and construction of residential and commercial district.
