Areas of Practice
Mr. Birch focuses his practice on land use and zoning issues, as well as municipal law. He represents developers and property owners in a variety of land use matters, including wetlands permitting, rezoning, special use permitting and historic preservation and variance proceedings.
Mr. Birch is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP), a distinction he earned through the Green Building Certification Institute. As a LEED-AP, he has demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles, as well as the LEED Rating System.
Representative Experience

Obtained variance from Board of Adjustment to permit residential dwelling units immediately adjacent to the public right-of-way for a mixed use student housing project.
- Assisted in successfully rezoning an 18 acre assemblage to permit over 700 residential dwelling units, over 800,000 square feet of office and a hotel.

Assisted in successfully rezoning a 24 acre assemblage to permit over 300 dwelling units and over 50,000 square feet of commercial space

Performed entitlement due diligence for proposed mid-rise residential development in Miami, Florida.
