Robert M. Barrett concentrates his practice in intellectual property law and, more specifically, patent related issues, including litigation, prosecution, licensing, due diligence and counseling.
Mr. Barrett has extensive experience in patent prosecution, licensing, litigation, due diligence and counseling for biotech, chemical, software, e-commerce, health care, medical device, electrical device and food science companies. A degreed chemist experienced as a chemical engineer, he has acted as lead counsel in numerous patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition matters for some of the nation's most prominent corporations, including Nestlé, Baxter International, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, Littelfuse, Clintec Nutrition, Ondeo Nalco Chemical and Stratos Lightwave, as well as for a number of the nation's leading universities.
Mr. Barrett is an adjunct professor of law for patent law at The John Marshall Law School in the Masters of Law program. He heads the Intellectual Property Law Clinic and is an adjunct professor of law at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
