Areas of Practice

Ms. Clancy's practice concentrates on patent, trademark and copyright litigation.  She has handled matters dealing with chemical compositions, nutritional supplements, medical devices and procedures, transport systems, electrical and mechanical devices, and packaging.  Ms. Clancy has also prosecuted patent applications and drafted licenses and opinions.

From 1985-1991, Ms. Clancy worked for the Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Company as a technical engineer in the papermaking division and then as a business manager in the industrial chemicals division, and has experience in mechanical and chemical manufacturing processes.  From 1993-1996, she worked as an associate for a Boston intellectual property law firm.

Representative Experience
  • DSM IP Assets B.V. v. Archer Daniels Midland Company (N.D.Ill.).  Represents ADM in a patent infringement action concerning its Ecotone® astaxanthin feed product. 
  • Sears Petroleum & Transport Corp. et al. v. Archer Daniels Midland Company (N.D.N.Y.).  Represents ADM in a patent infringement action concerning its patent Caliber® antifreeze and deicing product. 
  • Archer Daniels Midland Company v. Sabinsa Corporation (D.N.J.).  Represented ADM in a patent infringement action concerning its patented isoflavone technology.  Defendant agreed to entry of a consent judgment ruling that the asserted patents were valid and infringed.
  • International Code Council v. National Fire Protection Association, Inc. (N.D.Ill.).  Represented NFPA in a copyright infringement action.  The dispute settled prior to trial with a payment to accused copyright infringer NFPA.
  • National Fire Protection Association, Inc. v. International Code Council (D.Mass.).  Represented NFPA in a trademark infringement action.  The dispute settled prior to trial with favorable terms to NFPA.
  • Consumer Cap Corporation v. Portola Packaging, Inc. (W.D.Pa.).  Represented Portola Packaging in a patent infringement action.  The case settled prior to trial with favorable terms to Portola.
  • International Plastics and Equipment Corporation v. Portola Packaging, Inc. (W.D.Pa.).  Represented Portola Packaging in a patent infringement action.  The case settled prior to trial with favorable terms to Portola.
  • Mistop, Inc. v. Aerofin Corp. (D.Conn.).  Represented Aerofin in a patent infringement action.  After a favorable summary judgment ruling, the case settled.
