Ms. Gill is a corporate lawyer in our Technology, Sourcing and Privacy team at the Melbourne office. 

Ms. Gill advises clients on a broad range of technology matters, including Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, terms and conditions for software products and platforms as well as software procurement and outsourcing projects. Ms. Gill also provides regulatory advice to clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Professional Background

Ms. Gill joined K&L Gates as a seasonal clerk and then as a graduate, completing the graduate program and gaining exposure to technology transactions and privacy, asset management and investment funds, restructuring and insolvency and general corporate advisory work.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Gill worked as a research assistant at Melbourne Law School for notable academics in the field of corporations law. Ms. Gill assisted in major grant applications and research for projects and publications on topics such as not-for-profit law, directors' duties in Australia and various overseas jurisdictions, and company constitutions.

Information Technology
  • Assisting in advising a national healthcare provider in relation to its negotiation of terms for the design, provision and implementation of a cloud-based relationship management system.
  • Advising an Australian software vendor operating in the healthcare/insurance industry in providing its bespoke SaaS platform for assessing insurance claims to a major health services provider, including sitting as second chair in negotiations with the customer and preparing the services agreement and statements of work. 
  • Assisting an Australian sporting authority on its multi-phase rollout of Microsoft's D365 ERP suite, using Microsoft as its implementor.
  • Assisting in due diligence reviews of various organisations' licences, services agreements and other IT related information.
Privacy
  • Assisting various clients in the preparation of privacy policies and collection statements to comply with statutory obligations under the Australian privacy regime.
  • Assisting various clients in handling and responding to data breaches.
  • Assisting various clients on a range of privacy considerations arising from business practices in relation to the collection, use, disclosure and storage of personal information.
