The Nuts and Bolts of Form PF

K&L Gates hosted a webinar on October 23 that discussed how many larger private fund advisers (with $5+ billion in assets) have now filed Form PF, which was jointly adopted by the SEC and the CFTC as required by the Dodd-Frank Act. The comprehensive webinar covered some of lessons learned from the form filings that have already been made. The panelists provideed an overview and delved into the nuts and bolts of the form, as well as addressing the following topics, among others:

  • Policies and procedures for filing and keeping current Forms PF
  • Treatment of related persons and determining if they are "separately operated"
  • Practical guidance on aggregating and reporting on parallel managed accounts and funds
  • Responding to the risk management reporting items
  • Addressing items that call for adviser judgment
