On November 9, 2012, K&L Gates hosted a webinar that included a panel discussion about the potentially far-reaching implications of the 2012 elections.
Leading the panel discussion were two former members of Congress as part of the Public Policy and Law team: former Congressmen Jim Walsh (R-NY) and Bart Gordon (D-TN). Combined, they have nearly 50 years' experience serving on Capitol Hill. Rep. Walsh is the only member ever to chair four House Appropriations Subcommittees. Rep. Gordon served as chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee until the beginning of this Congress. Jim and Bart were joined by colleagues with particular experience in some of the hot button issue areas, including taxes, financial services and environmental policy. The panel explored what the elections mean for major issues like the so-called "fiscal cliff" in the lame duck session of the 112th Congress and the coming 113th Congress. Co-Moderators:
