Raising and Marketing Funds in the Middle East

Amidst continuing global economic difficulties, the sovereign and private regional wealth of the Middle East continues to rise, attracting ever-increasing levels of interest from the global asset management industry. All asset managers, whether they have a Middle Eastern presence or not, need to be aware of the regulatory parameters and practical challenges of fund raising and carrying on investment activities in the region.

Middle East financial services partner, Natalie Boyd, provided insight into the practicalities of raising funds in the Middle East, including an overview of key regulatory restrictions, recent significant regulatory changes, and mitigating solutions for the marketing and offering funds and investment services in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. San Francisco Investment Management partner Mark Perlow served as moderator.
