Session II of K&L Gates' Future of Manufacturing Series
May 2016
Presenters: Etienne Drouard

Watch Webinar (CLE/CPD Credit Available)

Big Data is changing the playing field for manufacturers across industry sectors and regions.

Manufacturers are leveraging Big Data -- advanced analytics -- to enhance production yield, manage supply chain integration, reduce operational costs, and increase the bottom line. While Big Data boasts plenty of upside for manufacturers, it also presents numerous regulatory and legal issues.

In this program, our panelists discuss trends, as well as the regulatory and legal issues to consider when implementing and managing Big Data. Topics covered range from contractual agreements with partners, vendors, and service providers; and trade secrets and intellectual property rights (e.g., Big Data algorithms) to the EU Database Directive and U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAP).
