Structures and Investments for Socially Responsible Entities

5 April 2017

Nonprofits and charities are no longer the only means of “doing good,” and the private sector is no longer a means of profit maximization at any cost. Today, with the advent of new, creative entity types, like benefit corporations and B-certified entities, for-profit businesses are expanding the range of tools used to address our world’s most pressing societal and environmental challenges while angel investors, venture capitalists, private foundations and public charities are experimenting with new ways to invest in these entities.

Our panel of business and legal leaders define these various corporate structures, and describe the types of investment tools available to start-up companies and the funders who want to invest in them.
