Program Overview
Parties to arbitration are increasingly looking at novel ways of funding the arbitration proceedings and of managing the risk of the process, including the risk of having to pay the opponent's costs.

In this webinar, chaired by Peter Morton of K&L Gates International Arbitration Group:

  • James Blick, from the independent insurance broker The Judge Limited, gives an overview of so called "after the event" (ATE) insurance policies, how they operate and how they can be attractive not only in litigation but also in arbitration proceedings; and
  • Neil Purslow of London-based funder Therium provides an introduction to third party funding of arbitration proceedings, how such arrangements work in practice and the potential benefits of such arrangements to parties to arbitration.
