Mr. Hsu is an associate in our Taipei office. Mr. Hsu is experienced in serving clients in the banking, insurance, private equity, venture capital, electronics, fast-moving consumer goods, sports and entertainment sectors. He has advised numerous Fortune 500 companies on their investments, transactions and regulatory compliance issues.

Mr. Hsu's expertise includes:

  • Mergers and acquisitions – advising clients on the structuring of transactions, conducting due diligence, negotiating trade terms, drafting legal documents, acquiring approvals and handling post closing transitions.
  • Cross border investment – advising clients on their investments in Taiwan, including incorporation, restructuring, fundraising and operation.
  • Anti-trust and competition – advising clients on merger control application, alleged cartel violation and various issues under competition law.
  • Regulatory compliance – advising clients on their compliance with local laws and regulations related to banking, securities and insurance.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hsu worked at a leading full service Taiwanese law firm and within the Wealth Management department of a global bank.

In 2011, Mr. Hsu also worked at a Japanese law firm in Osaka as a visiting lawyer.

  • Represented Lenovo in its merger control application with the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) of Taiwan.
  • Represented a Tokyo Stock Exchange listed company in the cartel investigation by the FTC of Taiwan, with a non-violation conclusion acquired.
  • Advised Audatex Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NYSE listed Solera Holdings Inc., in its provision of services to local insurance and motor companies.
