Ryan Severson is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, where he is a member of the Public Policy and Law practice group. Mr. Severson’s practice is focused primarily on health care policy.
Mr. Severson advises and represents clients on a wide variety of legal and regulatory matters, including the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, health information privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Medicare payment regulations. On these issues, Mr. Severson has represented major corporations, health plans, hospital systems, professional organizations, and others, working closely with congressional staff and federal agencies.
During law school, Mr. Severson was a law clerk in the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland and was a legal intern for U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, where he focused on health care legislation. He was a summer associate at K&L Gates in 2009.
