His construction litigation practice includes representing owners, contractors, and subcontractors in disputes involving construction contracts, construction defects, and mechanics’ liens, among others. He also handles a wide variety of real estate litigation and other commercial litigation matters, including disputes concerning restrictive covenants, leases, land sale contracts, goods supply contracts, and other commercial contracts. Mr. Reaves has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in North Carolina and other jurisdictions, in administrative matters before the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, and in arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Drafted and negotiated construction and architectural/design contracts for a variety of projects, including an industrial facility, condominiums, townhomes, apartments, parking decks, office buildings, office build-outs, mixed-use projects, and a luxury home.
Served as co-counsel for EPC contractor in AAA arbitration against owner of chemical facility where owner originally sought $20 million, arbitration was pending for over two years, award was entered in favor of contractor on most issues, and owner was awarded less than four percent of original amount sought.
Represented multi-national corporation in ICC arbitration arising from disputes in connection with the construction, repair, and maintenance of the ARCOS ring, a fiber optic cable linking and providing telecommunications service to fifteen nations in the Caribbean basin.
Represented owners/developers of mixed-use developments in pursuing multi-million dollar claims against architectural and engineering firms.
Represented multiple condominium developers in disputes with owners, owners’ associations, contractors and design professionals concerning construction and design defects, unit purchase agreements and condominium declarations/covenants.
Served as co-counsel for national retailer in pursuing claims regarding construction of distribution facility.
Represented subcontractors in pursuing multi-million dollar payment claims regarding luxury hotel.
