Seth Johnson is an associate at the firm’s Charlotte office where he is a member of the complex commercial litigation and disputes practice group.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Johnson served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Texas. At the Texas Attorney General’s office, he was responsible for litigating a wide range of claims before both trial and appellate courts, including tort, employment, eminent domain, and constitutional law claims. In addition, he served as a commercial litigation associate at a global law firm based in Texas, where his practice focused on securities litigation, product liability, and aviation law.

During his time at the Texas Attorney General’s office, Mr. Johnson’s notable accomplishments included:
  • Serving as lead counsel on ten cases before Texas courts of appeals, including the Texas Supreme Court
  • Serving as trial counsel in seven jury trials, including four as first chair
  • Serving as trial counsel before a three-judge panel in Perez v. Abbot, a redistricting case involving challenges to Texas’ congressional and state house plans
