Thomas Derlin is a partner in the firm's Berlin office and a member of its corporate and transactional practice group. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, public takeovers, capital markets law, and company and commercial law. Mr. Derlin has broad experience in various kinds of M&A transactions, including complex international/cross-border deals, joint ventures and public takeovers.

Professional Background

Before joining K&L Gates in June 2010, Mr. Derlin worked for two leading international law firms in Cologne as a corporate/M&A lawyer and as a telecoms, media and technology lawyer with a focus on international transactions, acquisitions and joint ventures. From 2002 to 2004 he was a scientific assistant at the Institute for Commercial Law of the University of Freiburg i.Br. He holds an LLD (Dr. iur.) from the University of Freiburg i. Br.
