He advises international and domestic film, Internet, software, and publishing companies on German and European media, intellectual property, contract, corporate, and competition law. He has experience in copyright matters, involving content acquisition and exploitation as well as piracy issues. Torsten further advises on general corporate matters and M&A transactions in the media and technology sector, also covering regulatory aspects.
Prior to joining K&L Gates in May 2011, Torsten worked, since 2008 as a qualified attorney, in the media and competition departments in the Berlin and London offices of another global law firm. He wrote his doctoral thesis on new media and also studied English, European, and international intellectual property and competition law at the University of London.
