Victoria Ford is a Government Affairs Advisor in the Public Policy and Law group whose practice focuses on legislative and regulatory affairs in Texas. Capitalizing on her experience in the Office of the Governor in Texas, she provides advice and guidance to business and association executives to advance client interests in the legislative, regulatory and procurement process before various government agencies. Ms. Ford currently represents a diverse client base, including companies in industries such as: health insurance, public health, state taxes, public education, state license regulation, and health information technology.
Ms. Ford is a former Deputy Legislative Director and Senior Advisor for Health and Human Services in the Texas governor’s office. During that time she oversaw the consideration and negotiation of more than 5,000 bills and amendments by the Office of the Governor during the legislative session and was responsible for the governor’s health-related public policy agenda, including issues related to private health care, bioterrorism, public health, health insurance and health facility regulation. Ms. Ford also served in the governor’s office as Assistant Director of the Office of Budget, Planning and Policy, and as Health Services Policy Director prior to that. Before joining the governor’s office, she was a Legislative Assistant for Texas State Senator Frank Madla and Legislative Director for then Texas State Representative Leticia Van de Putte. Ms. Ford has received honorary recognitions from the Texas Association of Community Health Centers, the Texas Center for Rural Health Initiatives and the Selective Service Association.
