  • Advised foreign companies on their investment and operation in China including incorporation of their Chinese subsidiaries, tendering, licensing, OEM, house leasing, employment, advertisement, cooperation with local partners, etc.;
  • Advised foreign companies on various intellectual property legal issues including technology license, trademark license, copyright license, customs protection, negotiation for trademark and/or domain purchase, intellectual property due diligence, unfair competition, the company rules and policy on IP, etc.;
  • Represented the foreign companies on various trademark procedures including prosecution, opposition procedures with the Chinese Trademark Office (CTMO) and the cancellation (invalidation) procedure with the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (TRAB) in China, administrative raid actions with the local Administration for Industry and Commerce (AIC) and the court procedures against the trademark infringement;
  • Represented the foreign companies on copyright registrations, copyright infringement lawsuits;
  • Assisted the foreign companies on patent infringement lawsuits;
  • Represented the multinational companies on handling domain name disputes including filing several UDRP and CNDRP complaints against the cyber squatters in China and negotiation and purchase of the domains;
  • Advised on the foreign companies on obtaining the license and permit for sale of health food products and cosmetics products in China; and
  • Represented a foreign-invested company in China in a CIETAC arbitration case regarding the technology assignment matters.
