Abraham Sotelo is an associate in the firm's Kansas City office and a member of the Power practice group. His practice focuses on energy transactions—including developing, buying, selling, and investing in renewable energy projects—as well as carbon management and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction/removal transactions. Abraham's experience in a large array of corporate transactions and governance allows him to provide efficient, practical, and comprehensive solutions to clients in all types of energy transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and tax equity financings.
Prior to joining the K&L Gates, Abraham served as an associate in the Kansas City office of a national law firm, where he focused his practice on any and all type of transactional corporate matters. Through this role, he served on a wide variety of transactions in the waste management and environmental services, communication services, landscaping, self-storage, health care, transportation, retail, and data security industries. Abraham also represented technology-focused and biotechnology-focused firms in various preferred equity investments from Series Seed to Series D funding. In addition, Abraham also advised clients regarding investment management, venture capital, securities and general corporate governance.
