Cameron P. Thornton

Cameron Thornton is a patent agent at the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Before becoming a patent agent, Mr. Thornton was a patent technical specialist in the firm’s Pittsburgh office for over a year. He focuses his practice in the areas of patent preparation and patent prosecution. Mr. Thornton has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for a range of technologies including surgical techniques and medical devices, including surgical staplers, electrosurgical instruments, and robotic surgical instruments.

Previously, Mr. Thornton served as a mechanical engineer for Rolls-Royce Nuclear Engineering Services where he leveraged technology to solve complex business problems. Specifically, Mr. Thornton was the project manager for an obsolescence backlog project, accomplished the first reverse-engineering project at the establishment, performed 250+ equivalency evaluations replacing obsolete safety and non-safety components for nuclear power plants around North America, proposed optimized preventative maintenance strategies to several nuclear power plants, and more.
