Elliot Bertasi is an associate at the firm's Nashville office and a member of the Health Care and FDA practice group. Elliot assists health care industry stakeholders, including health care investors, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices, pharmaceutical companies, and behavioral health facilities, with transactional and strategic operational matters. Operational matters include regulatory compliance issues related to physician self-referral laws, anti-kickback laws, corporate practice of medicine, fee splitting, Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, HIPAA, and state privacy and data security laws. Transactional experience includes diligence, drafting agreements and licensure issues related to health care mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, and syndications. Elliot also has experience assisting health care facilities and other industry stakeholders with data breach and security incident responses.
Prior to joining the firm Elliot served as an associate at the Nashville office of a national law firm. Through this role, Elliot assisted health care companies, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices, behavioral health facilities, and other industry stakeholders, with transactional matters, regulatory compliance, and operational matters.
Prior to practicing law, Elliot worked for the United States Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
