Kathleen Nicholas is a government affairs analyst in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She advises clients on policy issues related to the energy, environment, agriculture, and heath care sectors. She regularly advocates for client priorities before Congress and the Executive Branch. Kathleen works collaboratively with partners across the firm’s platform to develop and implement policy strategies and provide timely updates on actionable intelligence.
Kathleen manages the D.C. office’s team of government affairs specialists and the Lloyd Meeds Fellowship Program. In that capacity, she leads the legislative research and monitoring capabilities for the firm and mentors students and junior staff. Additionally, she advises senior leaders of the policy practice on technology developments that enable more efficiencies for the research team, which translate directly into more timely and accurate information for clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Kathleen served as staff to the United States Senate’s Select Committee on Ethics, where she handled constituent correspondence and assisted in the compliance review of various required disclosure reports. She also previously served with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. There she worked in the Congressional, Intergovernmental, and Public Affairs program office, tracking the agency’s budget request and authorization legislation on Capitol Hill.
