Megan W. Clement

Megan Clement is counsel in the firm's Washington, D.C., office and is a member of the firm's Asset Management and Investment Funds practice group. Megan focuses her practice on advising US-registered investment companies, their boards of directors, and their investment advisers on legal, regulatory, compliance, and governance matters. She has experience drafting and reviewing registration statements, shareholder reports, proxy statements, applications for exemptive relief and other regulatory and legal documentation related to the development and launch of new funds, fund mergers and reorganizations, and the ongoing operations of registered funds. Megan also has experience in the UCITS space, including new fund formation (Irish common contractual funds and Dutch funds for joint account) as well as ongoing support and regulatory compliance of existing UK UCITS and Irish UCITS. She also has experience reviewing and negotiating service provider contracts for both US-registered funds and UCITS investment funds.

Megan Clement initially joined the firm in 2014 and practiced with the Asset Management and Investment Funds group until 2018, when she joined the legal department of a global asset manager based in Austin, Texas. In that role she supported the asset manager’s London operations having responsibility for day-to-day management of UCITS fund ranges, advising compliance, portfolio management, operations, and finance teams. Megan rejoined the firm and the Asset Management and Investment Funds group in 2022, supporting US-registered fund clients.

Megan previously practiced with the investment management group of another international law firm in Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2014 providing counsel to both US-registered and UCITS investment funds.
