Mitsuhiro Imamura

Mitsuhiro Imamura is a partner in the firm's Tokyo office and a member of the IP Procurement and Portfolio Management group. He focuses on patent and trademark filings, patent and trademark disputes, opposition and invalidity proceedings, and international transactions, and international transactions. His clients include companies in a range of sectors including mechanical device, computer, software, telecommunication, medical device, artificial intelligence, and automotive technology.

Since graduating from university and graduate school, Mitsuhiro has been consistently engaged in intellectual property-related work. He has also worked in the intellectual property departments of European and Japanese companies, and has been involved in a wide range of procedures for obtaining rights in Japan and overseas, as well as assisting clients in building patent portfolios and resolving disputes. He has particular experience in a wide variety of technical fields, including: mechanical structures, automotive parts, engine structures and controls, automotive vehicle structures and controls, medical device, power generation plants, power control systems, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, storage devices, artificial intelligence, and computer equipment and network.

Prior to joining our firm, he worked for more than 14 years in the intellectual property departments and law and patent offices of major Japanese and European automobile manufacturers, where he was involved in the development and management of patent portfolios, patent clearance work, drafting of patent applications, prosecution of intermediate cases, external and internal work, expert opinions, and disputes.
