Sumner C. Fontaine

Sumner Fontaine is an associate at the firm’s Charlotte office. He is a member of the banking and asset finance practice group. Sumner focuses his practice on commercial lending, corporate finance, private equity, and mezzanine financing.

Prior to joining the firm, Sumner served as an associate at an international law firm where he concentrated his practice on bankruptcy and restructuring law, litigation, and debt finance matters. He has represented debtors, secured lenders, and unsecured creditors’ committees in chapter 11 and chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, including reorganizations, adversary proceedings, and contested matters. Sumner also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Benjamin A. Kahn in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
