Will Smith is a corporate associate in the firm's Seattle office, where his practice focuses on emerging growth/venture capital companies and nonprofit organizations.
In his venture capital work, Will advises technology and life sciences companies in the formation and early growth stages. He also counsels angel, venture, and strategic investors focused on high growth companies in these sectors.
In his nonprofit work, Will advises both established and startup nonprofit organizations and private foundations on organizational and tax-exempt issues, including formation, fiduciary responsibilities, conflicts of interest, and operational matters. Will also maintains an active pro bono practice assisting local community organizations with nonprofit governance and 501(c)(3) compliance.
Before joining the firm, Will was a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Seattle University, where he taught courses in the University Honors Program, the University Core Curriculum, and the College of Nursing, including among other subjects, courses in ethics and moral theory, bioethics, and healthcare ethics.
