Kasey Lekander is a partner in the firm’s Boston office. She is a member of the asset management and investment funds practice group. Kasey’s clients include a broad array of private funds including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds and funds of funds. Kasey advises these private fund clients and their sponsors on all aspects of fund formation, general partner and management company matters, including follow-on investments and co-investments. Additionally, she negotiates partnership agreements and side letters with limited partners. Kasey also works with 40 Act clients on various regulatory issues. She also assists clients with respect to sales and acquisitions of investment advisers and fund families.
Prior to joining the firm, Kasey was an attorney in the fund formation group of a Boston-based law firm. Prior to that, Kasey served as managing director and managing counsel at State Street Global Advisors, where she led a team in support of State Street’s private funds and bank collective trust funds and provided advice on strategic, regulatory and governance matters. Prior to State Street, Kasey was counsel in the investment management group at a large international law firm, where she advised fund managers on firm establishment, firm restructuring, fund formation, and regulatory matters.
