Our maritime finance group includes lawyers throughout the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. They work in conjunction with professionals in the firm’s maritime industry practice, including admiralty law, international trade, and tax lawyers. Our maritime finance lawyers also collaborate with lawyers on the firm’s restructuring and insolvency and public finance teams, among others.
We have extensive experience in maritime asset financings, including negotiation and documentation of secured credit facilities, leveraged lease transactions, international structured finance transactions, and public financing of maritime projects. We also have experience in ship and fleet mortgage enforcement (including arrests), workouts, restructurings, insolvencies, and judicial sales through private treaty or public auction and distribution of proceeds. Additionally, we regularly advise lenders on legal issues relating to maritime asset finance, including re-flagging and insurance coverage issues.
