Robert Weiss is counsel in the firm’s New York office. He is a member of the asset management and investment funds practice area.
Prior to joining the firm, Robert served as a senior investment funds associate at a large international law firm, where he focused his practice on the formation, marketing, and closing of private funds, funds-of-one, and separately managed accounts. Robert also advises sovereign wealth funds and other investors in LP investments in private equity and debt funds, as well as advising venture capital funds and corporate venture capital funds in venture investments. In addition, Robert has advised new and existing managers on documentation of “house” arrangements.
Robert previously led business development efforts for two New York-based tech companies, including an industry leader in immersive virtual experiences and virtual reality with over 65 employees and nationwide network of content and media producers and a data-driven internet real estate listing service (ILS) for rental homes and apartments backed by Y Combinator and the venture arm of Two Sigma. Robert began his legal career in the New York office of a global law firm and served as in-house counsel to a financial services company specializing in secondary markets in insurance products.
