Accounting Assistant

Our Hong Kong office is now seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join the Asia Finance team. This comprehensive role supports the regional accounting function by working with accounting systems, handling financial documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
Essential Duties:
- Accounts Payable & Payments
- Process regular payments through online banking platforms and prepare cheque payments when required.
- Maintain payment records and cheque registers.
- Support the payment monitoring process to ensure timely settlement and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Billing & Receipts
- Monitor bank account receipts and update registers.
- Prepare official receipts and maintain receipt registers.
- Coordinate mailing of signed receipts and bills.
Accounting Entries & Cost Processing
- Post payment vouchers, office receipts, trust transactions and charges into the accounting system.
- Monitor and maintain cost records, including trademark filing deposits and notarization deposits.
Reporting & Month-End Support
- Assist with monthly expense reporting and accounting reconciliations.
- Support month-end closing activities, including bank-to-ledger reconciliations.
Records Management & Administrative Support
- Compile supporting documents and ensure the completeness of all scanned documents.
- Coordinate document storage and off-site archiving.
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as required.
- Assist with external/ internal audit requests
- Any other ad hoc assignments as assigned
Your Profile:
- Minimum of one year prior related accounting experience and experience with accounting software systems (knowledge in Elite 3E is an advantage)
- Associate Degree or above in accounting related discipline
- Experience in a professional services environment is an advantage
- Understanding of basic accounting principles required to perform essential job functions
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong communication (oral, written, and listening) and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and detail-orientation skills in order to complete tasks correctly and efficiently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders and contacts
- Ability to maintain confidentiality around firm and client matters
