9 April 2018
Brussels - The Brussels office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Mélanie Bruneau as a partner in the antitrust, competition and trade regulation practice. Previously with K&L Gates from 2011 to 2015, Bruneau rejoins the firm from McDermott Will & Emery.

Bruneau focuses her practice on the various aspects of EU competition law and has significant experience in merger control remedies (including divestments) and cartel investigations before the European Commission. She advises large multinationals as well as trade associations on their global antitrust compliance programs and performs internal audits and compliance trainings. Bruneau frequently counsels clients on the rules and procedures governing anti-corruption and anti-money laundering legislation.

In addition, Bruneau advises companies on distribution strategies including e-commerce cross-border issues and distribution networks in Europe. She has assisted various clients in establishing their commercial websites in compliance with the e-commerce and data protection legislations.

A member of the Paris and Brussels Bars, Bruneau represents clients across a variety of sectors including transport, aviation, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceuticals, and technology on their antitrust, regulatory, and compliance issues. She is joined in her move by senior associate Antoine de Rohan Chabot, who focuses his practice on antitrust and commercial matters and is also a member of the Paris and Brussels Bars.

Tony Griffiths, K&L Gates’ managing partner for Europe and the Middle East, stated: “We are delighted to welcome back Mélanie. Her recruitment represents another step forward in the continued strategic development of our European competition, trade, and regulatory practice.”
