Brandon Melton

Brandon is a lawyer in the energy, infrastructure and resources group with a professional focus on power.

Brandon has prior experience in front-end construction and disputes resolution (projects, insolvency) and is skilled in mitigating project lifecycle risks to anticipate transactional pitfalls and drive resilient deal structures. He is committed to applying this expertise to advise on innovative energy transactions that advance Australia’s decarbonisation goals.

Brandon is currently undertaking a Master of Laws, with a research focus on Australian electricity market regulation, sustainable finance frameworks, and environmental market-based instruments

Brandon joined K&L Gates' graduate program in 2024 working in the real estate and finance groups, where he gained exposure to contentious and non-contentious construction, security and debt enforcements, consensual restructurings, and financial distress matters for clients in a variety of sectors.
