Declan C. Gallivan

Declan Gallivan is a senior associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. He helps clients resolve crises and commercial disputes, from the first signs of a problem through to negotiated resolution or trial/final hearing.

Declan has acted in litigation before the English courts–including the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court–and in international arbitration under the major arbitral rules, including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Rules. His matters are often technically complex and commercially sensitive, with a significant international dimension.

His experience includes energy disputes (particularly involving Liquefied Natural Gas pricing and supply), shareholder and boardroom disputes, funds and asset management-related disputes, technology and infrastructure projects, and directors’ duties claims.

At every stage, Declan works closely with clients to understand their options, assess risk and make clear decisions in high-pressure situations.

Declan obtained a first-class law degree (LLB) from the University of Bristol. He completed his training contract at K&L Gates during which he gained experience in the competition and EU regulatory, commercial disputes, real estate and investigations, enforcement and white collar practices.

Prior to joining the firm, Declan was an intern at a Public Defender's Office in South Florida working on death penalty cases. In addition, he was a paralegal in the litigation department of a London law firm.
