Provide ongoing guidance to clients on corporate and individual political activity, as well as contributions drawn upon partnership or limited liability company accounts. Review and vet potential political contributions at the federal, state, and local level. Contributions are reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable campaign-finance, procurement pay-to-play laws, and redeveloper pay-to-play laws with an eye toward maintaining eligibility for government contracting opportunities. Assist clients with RFP and RFQ Certifications and Disclosure Forms. Provide clients with guidance on lobbying law compliance and reporting. Provide guidance to companies on establishment and operation of corporate PACs at the federal, state and multi-state level.
Assist various clients with the development, adoption, and role out of companywide policies focused on political activity, pay-to-play, government contracting, independent expenditure, lobbying, and gift rule compliance to ensure compliance with best practices and applicable law. Conduct regular interactive trainings for clients.
Represent clients in government contracting ineligibility determinations before federal, state, municipal, and city government entities resulting from pay-to-play violations and political contribution disclosure obligations, with eye toward minimizing exposure and maintaining eligibility for government contracting opportunities.
Represent clients before the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Inspector General's Office in connection with developing and establishing additional compliance procedures and protocols in order to preserve eligibility for PANYNJ contracts in accordance with the requirements of PANYNJ Procurement Requirements and the Vendor Code of Ethics.
Assisted client with long-term plan pertaining to the transition of a DBE business to ensure compliance with applicable law with the goal of maintaining DBE status and eligibility for DBE government contracting opportunities.
Provide ongoing guidance to client with respect to RFP and RFQ requirements at the federal, state, and local level to ensure compliance with applicable law.
Represent clients through the Integrity Monitor Process before government agencies with an eye toward maintaining compliance with relevant procurement and ethics requirements and preserving eligibility for government contracting opportunities.
Serve as compliance counsel to large trade associations with respect to all aspects of trade association, lobbying, legislative, political, and independent expenditure activity.
Provide guidance to regulated-industry companies on individual political activity, operation, and establishment of voluntary employee political action committees, establishment of company code of conduct related to political activity and the "Dos and Don'ts" of participating in a ballot referendum campaign in New Jersey.
Provide guidance on the "Dos and Don'ts" of hospital political and lobbying activity by both the health system and individuals associated with the health system to ensure compliance with IRS, federal, and state requirements. Conduct trainings for key hospital staff and executives.
Provide ongoing guidance to 501c4 social welfare organizations on the "Dos and Don'ts" of political, lobbying, issue advocacy, and independent expenditure activity.
Provide clients with ongoing guidance on the establishment and operation of independent expenditure only committees (aka Super PACs) and the "Dos and Don’ts" on permissible independent expenditure activity.
Provide ongoing guidance regarding MWBE Certification process in New York, New Jersey, and with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Represent clients at the administrative level with respect to pay-to-play ineligibility determinations.
Provide guidance on post-employment restrictions applicable to government employees.
