REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Successfully negotiated resolution of multiple threatened putative class actions based on allegations of false and misleading advertising and marketing claims against client who is in the household goods product industry as a manufacturer/retailer/distributor and in connection with its private-label products manufactured on behalf of other retailers. Claims were pursuant to the UCL, FAL, and CLRA, and included advertising claims related to renewable resources, "plant-derived," "biodegradable," "plastic-free," "natural," and "hypoallergenic."
First-chaired plaintiff’s case where breach of real estate contract involved failure of seller to remediate groundwater contamination. Included putting on groundwater remediation expert regarding plumes, contamination sources, testing, etc. Obtained a US$1 million plaintiff’s verdict.
Second-chaired bifurcated portion of a trial involving a long-term case by the Orange County Water District against multiple defendants for groundwater contamination in the county’s water supply. Prepared and put on water remediation expert regarding reasonableness and parameters of plaintiff’s investigation according to NCP and industry standards.
Defended putative and filed class actions involving environmental labeling and sustainability claims, i.e. biodegradability, recyclability, microplastics, etc.
