REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Alison Deeth

Advised a confidential energy client on its ISDA agreements with an Australian trading bank and other energy market participants for electricity swap transactions.
Advised EDF Renewables on the development of the Banana Range Wind Farm, including the development of the network infrastructure.
Advised a confidential client on its embedded network arrangements and solar and BESS installations across its commercial and industrial, large residential and agricultural sites in the National Electricity Market (NEM) and the Wholesale Electricity Market in Western Australia (WEM).
Advised a confidential client on the development of a renewable project in Tasmania including negotiating the connection and power offtake arrangements.
Advised a South Korean client on its acquisition of solar and BESS projects in Queensland and Victoria.
Advised CS Energy on its retail business compliance arrangements including for compliance with the National Energy Retail Law and Rules, its detailed compliance obligations register and training, and the CS Energy Alinta Energy retail joint venture to provide electricity to residential and small commercial customers in Southeast Queensland.  Also advised CS Energy on generator obligations under the National Electricity Law and Rules relating to Projected Assessment of System Adequacy requirements and development of associated guidelines.
Advised Queensland local council on a dispute related to the proposal, design and development of a geothermal power plant, which has ultimately produced no power or electricity revenue or savings.
Advised Genuity (prev. InterGen) on a range of matters as part of its whole of business operation. This involved advising on Genuity's joint venture with CS Energy on the ownership and operation of the Callide C Power Station; leading the Australian in-house team on the transfer of UK, Dutch and US group companies to Australian management following the disposal of the UK parent company's assets (including due diligence processes, implementation of management services agreements, transfer of IT and HR systems and advice to the board on remaining liabilities); the negotiation and drafting of restructuring agreements for the proposed restructure of the Australian business; applications for Development Application amendments and working with the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning; negotiation and drafting of electricity hedging agreements, electricity retail sale agreements and broker agreements. The work also involved agreeing responses to regulator enquiries regarding electricity market matters.
