Jordan Hawthorne

Jordan Hawthorne is an associate in the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group. She advises corporates and individuals on a broad spectrum of white-collar crime defense matters, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions. Jordan has significant experience acting in matters involving the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and other UK and international enforcement agencies.

Jordan is particularly experienced in anti-bribery and corruption investigations and prosecutions, as well as large-scale health and safety investigations. She provides strategic compliance advice on health and safety law, anti-bribery and corruption, and financial crime prevention, and delivers tailored training to clients on corporate compliance with anti-bribery, corruption, and fraud prevention requirements.

Jordan’s practice also encompasses corporate due diligence, risk management, and supporting clients called to give evidence before public inquiries. 

Notable work includes:

  • Conducting a cross-border internal investigation into suspected bribery and corruption in connection with a high-profile world event.
  • Representing an individual in an appeal against an FCA decision before the Upper Tribunal.
  • Advising an individual appearing before the Post Office Inquiry.
  • Advising numerous individuals in connection with the Grenfell Inquiry.
  • Representing a large, privately owned construction company in various prosecutions concerning fatal and non-fatal site accidents.

Jordan is adept at navigating complex regulatory frameworks and delivering clear, actionable advice to clients, helping them manage risk, ensure compliance, and respond effectively to regulatory and enforcement challenges.

Jordan completed her training contract with an internationally recognised London-based law firm, gaining experience in clinical negligence and personal injury law, corporate and commercial law, criminal law, employment law, and immigration law. She was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2022. Jordan holds a first-class honours LLB, an LLM in Public International Law (focusing in international criminal law), and graduated from the Legal Practice Course with distinction.

Before joining the firm, Jordan was a solicitor in the criminal litigation department of the law firm she trained at. During this tenure, she advised clients on a range of issues relating to general crime, extradition and Interpol Red Notices, white collar crime, internal investigations, and public inquiries. 

Jordan has also worked for a large aerospace company, supporting on a range of legal and compliance matters across the UK, Russia, Europe and Israel. She has also interned at a “not-for-profit” specialising in international humanitarian law, provided legal assistance on a case before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (as was), and worked as a legal executive in a Belfast-based law firm.
