K&L Gates Captures “Best Law Firm of the Year” at Qatar Business Awards

Doha - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP was the inaugural winner of the “Best Law Firm of the Year” award at last night’s annual Qatar Business Awards, recognizing “exceptional companies operating in Qatar’s market.” The awards program is hosted by the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) under the patronage of the State of Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Judges, comprised of key regulators in the region, based their selection on several criteria, such as exceptional client work across a variety of practice areas and innovation in the business of law, including firm management, diversity initiatives, and client service. This is the first year the awards program included a category for law firms and legal service providers.

The award follows two Qatar Business Law Forum Awards for the firm in November, for “Property and Construction Firm of the Year” and “Alternative Dispute Resolution Firm of the Year,” as well as a recent Islamic Finance News award for “Private Equity Deal of the Year” and honorable mentions in the “Law Firm of the Year” and Arbitration, Insolvency, and Restructuring categories. On a global scale, the accolade follows a number of other recent awards and rankings recognizing the strength of K&L Gates’ platform and practices, including the firm being named corporate “Law Firm of the Year” by U.S. News-Best Lawyers; among America’s top corporate law firms by Forbes; among Law360’s annual Global 20; and as one of the 20 strongest U.S. law firm brands in legal market research company Acritas’ U.S. Law Firm Brand Index 2019, among others.
