K&L Gates Names New York Partner as 2016 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow

17 March 2016

New York - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has selected New York corporate/M&A partner Calvina Bostick as its 2016 representative to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows program.

Launched in 2011, the LCLD Fellows program works to identify and train high-potential attorneys from diverse backgrounds in order to foster diversity at the leadership levels of law firms and corporate legal departments.

Bostick advises clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, and other business transactions. She represents companies across a variety of industries, including healthcare, financial services, technology, media, and insurance.

“It is a huge honor to have been selected as an LCLD Fellow and to join such an esteemed group of lawyers in this landmark program,” said Bostick. “I’m proud that K&L Gates, as an active member of LCLD, is committed to my professional development, as well as diversity at the firm and in the legal profession as a whole.”

Along with the firm’s membership in LCLD, K&L Gates Chairman and Global Managing partner Peter Kalis also serves on the organization’s board of directors and is a past chair of the LCLD Strategy and Innovation Committee. The firm’s efforts to promote greater diversity and inclusiveness internally and throughout the profession also include the offering of a variety of fellowship awards to law students. K&L Gates has been named a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), having earned a top rating of 100 percent in HRC’s Corporate Equality Index survey for the past six consecutive years, and was recognized by Chambers USA as the 2015 “Outstanding Firm for Furthering Women’s Advancement.”

“Cally joined K&L Gates’ partner ranks in 2015, taking the next step in the development of her own legal career,” said John Bicks, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ New York office. “Through her LCLD fellowship, she will have an opportunity to hone her leadership skills and chart the next chapter in her career. Cally’s affiliation with LCLD also increases the value and guidance she can bring to her client relationships.”

LCLD is an organization of more than 240 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners committed to creating a diverse legal profession. The LCLD Fellows program has trained more than 800 attorneys since 2011.
