K&L Gates Partner Honored Among Seattle’s Outstanding Voices for LGBTQ Equality
Seattle - The Seattle-area business news outlet Puget Sound Business Journal and the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA) will recognize Suzanne J. Thomas, a labor, employment and workplace safety partner in the Seattle office of global law firm K&L Gates, among the region’s most influential leaders for equality as a part of their The Business of Pride: Outstanding Voices and LGBTQ Businesses event on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She is the only law firm recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Voices honor.
Thomas focuses her practice on counseling, representation and litigation, including class action litigation, in areas of employment law, such as discrimination, harassment, wage and hour payment and compliance, hiring, discipline, termination, equal employment opportunity (EEO), privacy rights, trade secrets, non-competition, workforce restructuring, and personnel policies. She has worked with financial and other institutions and their senior executives conducting and overseeing independent investigations for publicly traded, regulated, private and public employers, including managing issues of privilege and work product, as well as advising companies on how to deal with work place disasters, whistleblowers, and investigative results.
In addition to her robust legal practice, Thomas has served on several boards, associations, public service initiatives, including as a gubernatorial appointee under Washington Governor Gary Locke, president of the Washington Women Lawyers State Bar Association, board member of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and a trustee for the King County Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and King County Bar Foundation.
