Lisa Ward is a special counsel in the firm's Real Estate practice. She focuses on property and contract law within the agribusiness sector. With more than 15 years of experience within the legal industry, she has had the benefit of practicing in multiple jurisdictions across Australia and continues to act on transactions across each Australian state and territory.
Lisa advises a number of clients on agribusiness transactions including foreign investors and funds, developers, privately owned companies, trusts and family farmers. Her legal experience extends to all front end facets of property law, including the purchase, sale and lease arrangements of agricultural land, personal property and water rights.
Other significant areas of Lisa's practice include:
- Advising on water transactions;
- Advising on the foreign investment regime in Australia;
- Preparing easements and covenants relevant to clients’ ongoing business operations; and
- Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements including leases, agistment agreements, conduct and compensation agreements, supply and offtake agreements, farm sharing agreements, bore sharing arrangements and service kill agreements.
Lisa has intimate knowledge and understanding of the agriculture sector across a range of commodities including cotton, dairy, horticulture, broad acre cropping, beef and wool.
Lisa has been listed as a ‘One To Watch’ by Best Lawyers for 2024 for Agriculture and Rural Affairs and has been recognized in Doyle’s Guide as ‘Recommended Lawyer’ for Agribusiness.
